Product Architecture
 

Knowledge Werx is built on open standards like J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition), XML (Extensible Markup Language) and a MVC (Mode-View-Controller) framework. Thus, it is not meant to be a product that will lock-in the user to any proprietary format. Due to the adoption of open standards, Knowledge Werx easily integrates with other existing products that the organization currently may have.

Knowledge Werx is quickly to deploy and its intuitive interface will allows users to be productively quickly.

 
Manage Explicit Knowledge
  Knowledge Werx allows for the search of explicit knowledge in the form of documents and other electronic information through the integration with Search Werx.
 
Key Features
 
Community of Practice (CoP) Create Communities of Practices(CoP) that would allow ideas to flow freely in a trusted environment. Only invited participants may contribute and read from these communities. Post articles and documents for your CoP to view. When certain domains merge, an authorized user can merge CoPs together, so as to have a wider range of knowledge sharing.
Shared Calendar CoP also allowed a shared calendar for collaborative work. Post content into the shared calendar and allow users in your community to be updated of upcoming events.
Task Delegation and Monitoring Task can be delegated within the CoP to different users and allows the users to update the progress of these tasks.
Forums Groups represent a collection of users. Roles represent permissions that a group or user can be bound to. Access to portlets is also restricted to users based on roles.
Expertise Locator Locate the experts within your organization. Not all knowledge is explicitly kept in documents and other content. Much of the knowledge is tacitly kept, developed through direct action and experiences. This tacit knowledge would then be shared through conversation or through story telling. The skills and expertise of these experts are kept within an expertise directory that may be updated as an individuals gain new skills and experiences.
Instant Messaging Upon locating the user, you may communicate directly with him through an instant messenger. Send messages to the experts and communicate directly with him. Files can also be exchanged via the messenger.
Integration with Search Werx When integrated with Search Werx, Knowledge Werx becomes a platform for explicit knowledge discovery services. Search Werx enables you to search for knowledge within documents and other contents.
