Avant Werx’s Portal Werx is the portal software for today’s enterprise faced with a wide range of applications, unifying these applications.

By unifying these applications, within Portal Werx, users no longer need to remember multiple user IDs and passwords. It allows your staff to become productive with the applications and not spend time recalling URLs, user IDs and passwords.

Portal Werx works well with the current suite of Avant Werx applications to provide a Smart Enterprise Suite for your organization.

Product Architecture

Portal Werx is built on open standards like J2EE (Java Enterprise Edition), XML (Extensible Markup Language), Web Services and is based on the JSR 168 portlet framework. The JSR 168 portlet framework is a specification for applications vendors to provide a portlet to their applications. Thus, Portal Werx is not a product that will lock-in the organization to any proprietary format.

Due to the adoption of open standards, Portal Werx easily integrates with other existing products that the organization currently may have.

Using well-documented APIs, any J2EE developer may extend the services of Portal Werx to the particular needs of the organization.

Complete Application Infrastructure
Portal Werx delivers the infrastructure to collate applications across the enterprise.

The secure framework allows you to open the portal as an Internet, an employee intranet, an extranet for partners and an extranet for clients, and yet still maintain control over what these disparate groups of users can access.

Accessible and Adaptable

Portal Werx provides a comprehensive platform for building, integrating, deploying and delivering applications to your users.

Personalization features allow users to use content and applications that are truly useful to them. Users can modify the look and feel and colors to best suit the way they work and communicate.

Security management ensures that no unauthorized users access applications and content. Users can be given roles and can belong to groups, to best map the way they are assigned to responsibilities.

Using the JSR168 portlet framework ensures that the IT support department understands how applications communicate. As JSR 168 portlet framework is an openly available and widely adopted framework, the IT department can quickly and easily create new applications with Portal Werx.
