Avant Werx’s Search Werx is the Search Engine software for today’s enterprise faced with a disparate range of content. Search Werx allows enterprise information to be retrieved effectively through a simple interface.

Through an intuitive Search Configuration, Search Werx allows easy configuration of search engines for your website or for content repositories. As search results are collated from multiple sources, your staff spends only the time needed for searches instead of going through multiple search engines and remembering multiple URLs, user IDs and passwords.

Search Werx is highly customizable to allow gateways into different types of repositories and also works well with Content Werx, Document Werx and Knowledge Werx.

Product Architecture

Search Werx creates individual search indexes for each of the repositories that the users specify. The separated indexes allow the use of one or more of the indexes to conduct a federated search.

Due to the adoption of open standards like XML, Search Werx easily integrate with other existing repositories and search engine that the organization currently may have, enabling the organization to leverage on previous investments.

Search Werx J2EE architecture ensures that it will work in any J2EE compatible server. Existing investments in J2EE servers can be extended for use with Search Werx. Using well-documented APIs, any J2EE developer may extend the services of Search Werx to the needs of the organization, providing the organization a high return on investment.

Complete Application Infrastructure

Search Werx’s adoption of open standards and highly scalable architecture ensure easy integration and along useful life.

Using Search Werx, users do not need to be overwhelmed by the organization’s volumes of information and can spend more time on the information than searching for the information.

A Wide Suite of Tools

Search Werx provides features out-of-the-box, with user interfaces customizable to fit the corporate look and feel.

A built-in scheduler allows administrators or users to schedule searches without depending on operating system level schedulers. This maintains a familiar interface to the user to cut down on the learning curve.

Thesaurus, spell checks and soundex features help the user to expand the scope of their search meaningfully. These features help in returning accurate results, which the user would otherwise have taken a longer time to discover or not discover at all.

Taxonomy and Automated Taxonomy Generation help the knowledge workers to discover the information landscape of the organization quickly.

A friendly Noise Management Editor helps to filter out words that will be redundant in queries.

Proximity Search Specify the distance between 2 words.
Link Crawler Search Werx will crawl through the links from an initial page and depth that you selected, creating or updating the search index for the site.
Auto Indexer The search indexes can be updated instantly as new content or document is added to the repository or on a scheduled basis.
Noise Management Restrict noises like “he”, ”her” and other common words from corrupting the search results’ relevancy.
Federated Search This allows searches to be conducted at other search engines or third party information providers and the results consolidated.
Spell Check Suggests word corrections to the users if Search Werx detects that the words may be spelt wrongly.
Soundex Suggests similar sounding words to the users. For example, if the user enters “bare” and the result set is small, Search Werx would suggest the word “bear” instead.
